Amrutha Kadigai Neram
Additional details:
Meaning: Amrutha Kadigai Neram (also written Amrutha Gadiya Neram) literally means “nectar time period.” It is believed that the negative effects of Rahu Kalam end before this time, and the last 30 minutes are considered highly beneficial.
Usage: Traditionally observed in Tamil and some South Indian astrological practices, it is said that offerings, prayers, donations, and other auspicious activities done during this period yield better results.
Astrological basis: Rahu Kalam is generally avoided for starting new ventures. But the belief is that towards its end, especially the last 24–30 minutes, the malefic energy reduces, turning into a favorable window called Amrutha Kadigai.
Who follows it: This is mostly observed by devotees performing parigarams for planetary doshas, temple visits, or important spiritual remedies.
